Community Service- Deaf Unit
Being exposed to hearing impaired children has been a truly life changing experience. At the deaf unit, I started getting close to the children by organizing learning activities like writing and painting for the kids. For example, last summer I brought some of my simple books with photos to read with them.

Annual xmas clothing drive
Over the Christmas holidays (2022,2023) I arranged a clothing drive and xmas celebration for deaf children, gathering gently used clothes from my sister and myself to share. Along with the donations, we brought cakes and sandwiches for about 60 children and staff, creating a joyful and festive moment together. The children’s gratitude—expressed in sign language—was deeply moving and reinforced my commitment to service, teamwork, and finding thoughtful, inclusive ways to support families during the holiday season

Most recent football tournament - 2025

In the summer of 2025 I organized another tournament for the deaf and hearing impaired children, bringing together the kids for a day of teamwork, enthusiasm, and play.
In the months leading up to the event, I reached out to all my aunties and uncles, kindly asking for any donations they could provide. With their generous support, I was able to buy balls, bibs, and food for everyone, and I was even able to buy medals and trophies to celebrate each participant’s effort.
The tournament turned out even better than I anticipated, balancing healthy competition with pure enjoyment. Everyone involved had a wonderful time, laughing, cheering, and creating moments of shared joy on the field.

First football tournament - 2023

In the summer of 2023 I organized a youth football tournament that all the children together for a day of teamwork, enthusiasm, and play, and I prepared by securing high-quality soccer balls and bibs and ordering medals and trophies to celebrate every participant’s effort; the event was a resounding success, with the kids laughing, cheering, and sharing moments of pure joy on the field, and as the day drew to a close I distributed gift bags with snacks, juice, and small toys, hoping the small tokens would carry the day’s sense of community and celebration into every child's home.
